General Discussion / Game of the Year
« on: November 08, 2017, 06:29:07 PM »
My game of the year came down to the following:

Assassin's Creed Origins

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

Horizon Zero Dawn

In the end I chose Horizon Zero Dawn as my game of the year. Because it is a great game with a fantastic open world. Alloy is an amazing character and the story is really good.

Assassin's Creed: Origins is amazing. It is also a very beautiful game. Ancient Egypt is a great setting for a computer game. I am going to take my time with Assassin's Creed: Origins.

Also, I would love a mummy type game (like the 1999 Mummy film).

Hopefully, might hear some news about the Last of Us: Part Two at the Paris Games Week, which starts tomorrow. I know Playstation are announcing seven new games during the Paris Games Week.

I received my copy of Assassin's Creed: Origins this morning.

It is a beautiful game and I am level 2 at the moment. There is going to be so much to do and I would recommend this game as well.

First of all. Great PC, Troy.

My broadband speed is about 200Mbps. This is fast enough for me.

I am just waiting for Amazon to deliver my copy of Assassin's Creed Origins.

Saw this on Eurogamer and read the bit about people spending $15,000 on Mass Effect multiplayer cards! My God!

No wonder EA want microtransactions in their games.

However, if I buy another EA game. I will just play the game and avoid their microtransactions.

With regards to Battlefront 2. I cannot justify spending £50 for a game with a multiplayer system that revolves around loot boxes and a short single player campaign.

My plan to watch the single player campaign on Twitch or You Tube is still for me the best option.

I guess it is me getting older and wanting value for my money. But I would like more games like Witcher 3, Divinity Original Sin 2, Horizon Zero Dawn and Assassin' Creed Origins.

Also, it would be nice if, there was a new Star Wars RPG.

My laptop isn't powerful enough to play Divinity Original Sin 2.

Hopefully, will play it when it is released on the PS4.

It does look like an amazing game.

Thanks Troy.

I have pre-ordered the Assassins Creed Origins Limited Edition for the PS4 from Amazon. Being a Prime member I get £2.00 off, when I pre-order from Amazon. So the game is costing £45.99, instead of £47.99  :)

Furthermore, I am going to buy all my PS4 games from Amazon. Being a Prime member has so many benefits and I don't have to deal with the appalling customer service and overpriced games from Game.

Looking forward to Friday.

Since im not playing much on my pc, i thought about selling the whole package, but i came across Steam Link, where i can play from the sofa on the bigscreen. Reviews seem good when you have a good network en pc. So i ordered one and hoping to make use of my pc this way.  I don’t have a 4k tv and ours is still way too good to toss away. Btw congrats neirin on your great buy.

If it works like i seen in video’s im prolly buying AC and NFS that way, but first some extensive testing.

Thank you Xin.

Assassin's Creed Origins is looking better and better. It is going to keep me very busy.

Also the Battlefront 2 single player campaign is 5 to 7 hours. This has been confirmed by EA.

Hello everyone.

I hope you are all well.

Apologies for not being around.

I have recently upgraded to a Samsung 4k HDR TV. The PS4 Pro is stunning on my TV.

At present the only game, I have pre-ordered is Assassin's Creed Origins. It looks amazing.

Horizon Zero Dawn, a brilliant game. One of the best games of the year. The expansion pack, The Frozen Wilds looks really good.

Also enjoyed Uncharted Lost Legacy.

Ninja Theory did an amazing job with Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice. Because it is awesome!

I was going to play the Battlefront beta. But I watched a live steam of the beta on Twitch and got bored. Think I will watch the single player campaign on Twitch or YouTube.

I like the look of the new Cod game.

Hopefully, Divinity Original Sin 2 will be released onto consoles. Because, it looks superb and has received so many great reviews. Plus it reminds me of Baldur's Gate, which is good.

When I find the time, I may try Destiny 2.

In addition, I was looking at the Xbox One X. It does look like it will be a very good console, but there is no point in buying it. As all the games are available on the PC and the lack of exclusives is a major drawback.

Just seen the Assassin's Creed Origins gameplay video. The game looks good.

I must say that I am impressed, that Ubisoft are making an open world RGP. The game reminds me of the Witcher 3 mixed together with normal Assassin's Creed mechanics.

What a refreshing change to have a game set in Ancient Egypt.

I am looking to finding out more about Assassin's Creed Origins.

I agree. £12.99 a month for PS: Now is far too expensive!

If a PS4 game such as, The Order 1886 is going to be included in the PS Now games list. Then one just pays £12.99 a month to stream games.

I know that Geforce Now, has the option to buy games and play them via streaming.

Interesting news article about Playstation Now.

However, I believe the PS4 games will be older titles and not the newer PS4 exclusives.
